Three Peaks of Yorkshire Challenge
Horton-In-Ribblesdale is based near Settle in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It is surrounded by three conveniently placed peaks - Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - which are conected by footpaths, bridleways, and a few short sections of road. Some of the walking route also includes parts of the long distance Pennine Way trail.
The 25 mile circular route is normally attempted over a 12 hour period, starting and finishing at Horton, which has hotels, B&B's and camping, as well as a large car park. During your challenge you will pass two Inns, one at Ribblehead and one at Chapel-Le-Dale, where food and drink are usually available.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is often used as a suitable training event for groups or teams wishing to undertake the National Three Peaks Challenge at a later date.
