Yorkshire Three Peaks - HORTON-IN-RIBBLESDALE
In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and close to Settle, Horton-In-Ribblesdale is the start and finish for most people walking the Three Peaks Challenge circular route. With a number of Inn's, B&B's and bunkhouses, as well as camping fields, Horton makes the ideal base for a challenging walking weekend.
The famous Pen-Y-Ghent Cafe is situated here, with it's antique clocking in machine. Teams clocking before and after their challenge will qualify to join the Three Peaks of Yorkshire Club..

Due to the popularity of this small village, you may find parking difficult on busy weekends and should arrive early. If the main 'pay & display' car park is full, you may be able to park on the field at the south end of the village.
Most walkers attempt the route is an anti-clickwise direction, and the 3 Peaks Challenge route is described here.
Even though you will never be very far from civilisation, it is still important that you don't underestimate how dangerous walking in the mountains and hills can be, and you should carry all of the equipment detailed on our equipment page, or as detailed on the Three Peaks Equipment page.
